“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” – George Bernard Shaw
Hi, I’m Sian, an Essex girl born and bred, with some Celtic blood for good measure. I’m passionate about food and cooking and have been baking and generally making a mess in the kitchen since I could walk.
I’m a big believer in the simple things in life being the greatest sources of happiness, whether it be a hug or a meal shared. And it’s the latter which brings me the greatest joy. I love everything about it, from preparation to eating.
Through my blog I’ll share with you my favourite baking recipes, simple dinners and delicious breakfasts.
Be warned, I’m no fan of fads or diets and I see butter as my friend. This doesn’t mean all my recipes are packed full of calories or bad for you, it just means I don’t see food as something that needs to be ‘guilt-free’ (or any other similar turn of phrase).
This also doesn’t mean I don’t eat healthily I love vegetables, porridge and poached eggs as much as the next person, but I also love a piece of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting once in a while.
I’m slightly obsessed with avocadoes; dark chocolate makes me immensely happy; I think noodles might be one of the best inventions ever. Did I mention pancakes?
This blog is essentially a free ticket into the inner workings of my food-obsessed mind and endeavours in the kitchen, with the odd review of my dining and travel experiences for good measure. I’m also a vintage/antique lover and general collector of things I don’t need, so you may see my ramblings wander down that route too.
I hope you enjoy my blog; let me know what you think!
